Nitish Kumar touching PM's feet, according to Tejashwi Yadav, is shameful

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav took a dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar following a public event where Kumar was seen seeking blessings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi by touching his feet. Tejashwi expressed his disappointment upon seeing the image, remarking on the unusual sight of Kumar, a seasoned leader in Bihar politics, paying obeisance to PM Modi.

Tejashwi's remarks came after a video of the event circulated widely, showing Kumar touching PM Modi's feet after the latter concluded his speech at a rally in Nawada.

In addition to this incident, Kumar faced criticism on social media for a verbal slip-up during the rally. In a video from the event, Kumar initially stated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure "four lakh seats" in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections before correcting himself to say "more than 4,000." This misstep was promptly seized upon by the RJD, with a spokesperson humorously interpreting the gaffe as Kumar initially aiming for an impossibly large number of seats before scaling it down to a more realistic figure.

Nitish Kumar's political trajectory has seen him transition from being Chief Minister under a Janata Dal (United)-RJD alliance to forming a coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and returning to power as an NDA Chief Minister, a move that led to the dissolution of his alliance with the RJD in January.
