Now, even Babasaheb Ambedkar cannot remove the Constitution: PM criticizes Opposition

Addressing an election rally in Rajasthan's Barmer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi rebutted accusations from the Opposition that the BJP aimed to undermine the Constitution. He emphasized the government's profound respect for the Constitution, asserting that even Babasaheb Ambedkar himself would be unable to abolish it.

PM Modi criticized the Congress for alleging that the country's Constitution and democracy would be endangered if he were to secure a third term in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He accused the Congress of historical hypocrisy, citing their imposition of emergency in the past as evidence of their disregard for constitutional principles.

Further lambasting the Congress, PM Modi highlighted their neglect of Babasaheb Ambedkar's contributions, alleging that they obstructed his political success during his lifetime and withheld the Bharat Ratna from him. He asserted his own commitment to honoring Ambedkar's legacy, citing initiatives like the celebration of Constitution Day and the development of pilgrimage sites associated with Ambedkar.

PM Modi's critique of the Congress came amid heightened tensions sparked by Rahul Gandhi's assertion that the BJP's ultimate aim was to dismantle Ambedkar's Constitution. The controversy escalated after BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde suggested the need for a two-thirds majority to amend the Constitution, prompting the BJP to distance itself from his remarks.

Dr. B R Ambedkar, revered as the Chief Architect of the Constitution, remains a central figure in Indian political discourse, particularly during election campaigns.
