Retaliated for saying "Netaji first PM," Kangana Ranaut responds, Don't mansplain

Kangana Ranaut, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Lok Sabha candidate from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, reaffirmed her statement regarding Subhas Chandra Bose being the first Prime Minister of India despite facing criticism on social media.

Sharing a screenshot of a news article stating that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose formed the Azad Hind government in Singapore on October 21, 1943, and declared himself the first Prime Minister, Ranaut defended her earlier remark. She used this historical fact as a response to those mocking her lack of general knowledge, emphasizing her involvement in projects related to Indian history.

Ranaut dismissed criticisms about her knowledge level, implying that her detractors were not intellectually on par with her understanding. She also highlighted her involvement in a film called "Emergency," which focused on the Nehru family, suggesting she is well-versed in historical matters.

On October 21, 1943, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose declared himself the first Prime Minister of India and the Head of State, establishing the government of Azad Hind (Free India) in Singapore during World War II.

In response to Ranaut's statement, some opposition leaders criticized her, with BRS leader KT Rama Rao indirectly questioning the educational background of BJP candidates and CPIM leader Subhashini Ali clarifying the role of Subhas Chandra Bose as the head of the Provisional Government of Azad Hind, distinct from the government of India.
