Sanjay Singh says BJP ally made poll candidate out of accusation of liquor policy

AAP's Sanjay Singh, addressing his first press conference post-release on bail, accused the BJP's senior leadership of orchestrating a "big conspiracy" to incarcerate Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Singh highlighted an instance where an individual implicated in the Delhi liquor policy case was awarded a Lok Sabha ticket by the TDP, a BJP ally in Andhra Pradesh.

Singh displayed a photo of Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy, the TDP candidate from Ongole, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning the association given Reddy's alleged involvement in the liquor scam. He questioned the Prime Minister's collaboration with an accused individual seeking votes.

Asserting that the BJP was behind the liquor scam, Singh alleged the complicity of senior BJP leaders in the scheme. Arvind Kejriwal's arrest on March 21 in connection with the case, with the Enforcement Directorate labeling him the "kingpin," was cited as evidence of BJP's involvement.

Singh revealed that Magunta Reddy, previously with the YSRCP, was raided in the liquor policy case on September 16, 2022. Upon Reddy's refusal to implicate Kejriwal, his son Raghava Reddy was arrested in February 2023. Subsequently, both Reddys, along with other YSRCP members, joined the TDP, with Raghava Reddy becoming an approver in the excise policy case.

Detailing the sequence of events, Singh highlighted Raghava Reddy's alleged coercion to incriminate Kejriwal, citing a shift in his statements following prolonged detention. He emphasized the change in Magunta Reddy's stance after his son's arrest, suggesting coercion as a factor.

Singh concluded by underscoring the photo of PM Modi with Magunta Reddy as emblematic of the purported nexus between accused individuals and high-profile leaders, implicating the BJP's senior leadership in the alleged conspiracy.
