The sources of the terrorists slain in the Sopore encounter were Pakistan and occupied Kashmir

The two terrorists killed in Sopore during an anti-terror operation have been identified as Sanam Zafar from Mirpur in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and Abdul Wahab from Rawalpindi in Pakistan. They were associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group.

According to sources, the terrorists had infiltrated North Kashmir around a month ago, although it remains unclear how they managed to cross the border. They were believed to have been hiding in the forests of North Kashmir before moving to Sopore town.

The encounter with security forces began on Thursday, resulting in the death of one terrorist, while the second terrorist was neutralized on Friday following a gunfight. Unfortunately, two army personnel and a civilian were injured during the operation.
