Thirteen youngsters in Andhra Pradesh were electrocuted during a chariot parade



Thirteen children sustained injuries after a chariot, part of the Ugadi procession in Andhra Pradesh, came into contact with an overhead high-voltage electric wire in Tekur village, Kurnool district. Fortunately, all injuries were reported to be below 10% severity, and there was no immediate threat to the children's lives.

The injured children were promptly taken to a nearby hospital in Kurnool for medical treatment. Doctors confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening. Ugadi, which marks the beginning of the Telugu New Year, is celebrated with great fervor in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka on the first day of Chaitra Navratri.

Circle Inspector Kiran Kumar Reddy of Kurnool Rural Police Station provided details of the incident, stating that all injuries were below 10% severity, and thankfully, there were no fatalities.

Upon learning of the incident, YSRCP leader and Panyam MLA Katasani Ramabhupal Reddy, along with TDP candidate Byreddy Shabari from Nandyala, visited the hospital to meet the injured children. Byreddy Shabari expressed concern over the incident and stressed the importance of implementing preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
