Tourist gets pushed and slapped by security guards following a dispute about recording at the Taj Mahal

A video capturing an altercation between a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sub-inspector and a tourist at the Taj Mahal in Agra has emerged, garnering significant attention online.

In the video, a heated exchange and subsequent scuffle can be observed between CISF officer Ramesh Chand and the tourist, who was attempting to shoot a video of the monument despite a ban on videography within the premises.

According to a police report, the incident occurred on Saturday around 2 pm when the tourist and his friends tried to record a video near the 'Mehmankhana,' violating the established ban on videography.

Upon being stopped by the officer, the tourist engaged in a verbal altercation and continued recording despite warnings, leading to the CISF personnel confiscating his mobile phone, which further escalated tensions.

The video depicts the tourist pushing the officer, who retaliates, causing the tourist to fall. Subsequently, the tourist attempts to strike the CISF personnel again, prompting intervention from the two girls accompanying him, who request access to the phone to contact authorities.

One of the girls later reported the incident to the CISF control room.

During interrogation, Officer Ramesh Chand stated that the tourists became aggressive after being denied permission to record a video and resorted to physical confrontation.

CISF Commandant Rahul Yadav confirmed that complaints were registered from both sides, and an investigation is underway. The police are reviewing the viral video along with CCTV footage to ascertain the sequence of events.

Given the Taj Mahal's significance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, authorities emphasize the importance of visitors adhering to established guidelines and regulations to maintain its sanctity.
