Two guns, five cases, and Rs 19 crore in assets: Asaduddin Owaisi's electoral affidavit



AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi made comprehensive declarations of his assets, liabilities, and legal standing in his poll affidavit submitted to the Returning Officer as he filed his nomination papers from the Hyderabad constituency.

According to the affidavit, Owaisi's total assets amount to nearly Rs 19 crore, including movable assets worth Rs 2.80 crore and immovable assets valued at Rs 16.01 crore, which encompass land, commercial, and agricultural properties. Additionally, his wife's movable assets are valued at approximately Rs 16 lakhs, while her immovable assets amount to Rs 5 crore.

In terms of liabilities, Owaisi disclosed loans totaling Rs 7 crore. He also declared ownership of two weapons: one NP Bore .22 Pistol and one NP Bore 30-60 Rifle. Furthermore, the affidavit revealed that Owaisi has five legal cases pending against him.

Apart from his financial disclosures, Owaisi's educational background was also mentioned. He holds an L.L.B. degree from Lincolns Inn in London and graduated in 1994.

As the AIMIM candidate, Owaisi will contest the Hyderabad Parliamentary constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He will face competition from BJP candidate K Madhavi Latha and Gaddam Srinivas Yadav of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

The voting for the Hyderabad constituency is scheduled for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 13, with the results set to be announced on June 4.
