Video: Kamal Nath shouts "Jai Shri Ram" during a rally in Madhya Pradesh

A video capturing Congress leader Kamal Nath enthusiastically leading a crowd in chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' at a rally in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, has been making rounds on social media, garnering widespread attention. The footage showcases Kamal Nath urging the attendees to join him in raising the religious slogan, marking an unexpected moment in the political landscape.

This incident comes in the wake of earlier speculation surrounding Kamal Nath's potential shift to the BJP, particularly heightened by his sudden visit to Delhi alongside his son Nakul Nath in February. Further fueling the speculation was the sight of a 'Jai Shri Ram' flag hoisted atop his residence, although it was subsequently taken down. However, Kamal Nath swiftly dismissed any notions of him or his son aligning with the BJP.

Simultaneously, in a notable turn of events, former Congress MLA Hari Vallabh Shukla, along with his supporters and other party members, made a significant switch to the BJP under the auspices of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Shukla cited his disillusionment with the Congress and expressed admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies, emphasizing a perceived detachment of the Congress from the grassroots and its transformation into a party primarily driven by internal discussions among leaders.

Addressing the occasion, CM Mohan Yadav extended a warm welcome to the new entrants, symbolizing their integration into the BJP family. He encouraged them to contribute their perspectives on various issues, expressing optimism about the BJP's prospects in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh.

The first phase of polling in Madhya Pradesh, encompassing six constituencies, including Kamal Nath's stronghold in the Chhindwara constituency, took place on Friday. Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath is vying for reelection from this seat, setting the stage for a closely watched electoral battle.
