Video: A stray dog assaults a pitbull and mauls a UP boy

In an unfortunate incident in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a minor boy suffered critical injuries following an attack by a Pitbull. The distressing event unfolded on a Tuesday afternoon around 4:30 pm when the boy ventured out of his home. However, the situation took a dramatic turn when a stray dog intervened, attacking the Pitbull, which provided a momentary window for the minor to escape harm.

It's reported that a nearby resident was the owner of the Pitbull involved in the incident. A video capturing the event circulated on the internet, depicting the harrowing moment when the Pitbull pounced on the minor, with bystanders seemingly unable to intervene.

Following the attack, the injured boy was swiftly transported to a hospital for treatment. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to a multi-specialty hospital for further medical attention. Presently, he remains under treatment at a third hospital as he recuperates from his injuries.

Reports indicate that the owner of the Pitbull had recently relocated to the area. Despite objections from neighbors regarding the ownership of such a dog, the owner asserted that he possessed the necessary documentation permitting him to keep the animal.

This incident sheds light on the broader issue of aggressive dog attacks across the nation. In response, the government implemented a ban in March of the same year on the import, sale, and breeding of 23 breeds deemed "ferocious," citing them as a threat to human safety. Included in the ban are breeds such as the Rottweiler, Pitbull, Terrier, Wolf dog, Russian Shepherd, and Mastiff, along with their mixed and crossbred counterparts.
