"Will fight polls": The head of the Senior National Conference refutes reports of poor health

On Saturday, Mian Altaf Ahmad, a prominent figure in the National Conference and the party's candidate for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, dispelled rumors surrounding his health and clarified his stance on contesting the upcoming elections. Addressing concerns in a succinct video message, he revealed that while he had experienced a period of illness recently, his health has since improved, and he is now prepared to participate in the electoral process.

In the video, Mian Altaf candidly shared that he had been feeling unwell for a few days, prompting doctors to advise him to prioritize rest and recuperation. However, he assured his supporters and constituents that he is currently on the path to recovery and is fully committed to standing as a candidate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Dismissively addressing the earlier reports suggesting his withdrawal from the electoral race due to health concerns, Altaf firmly asserted the falsity of such claims, reaffirming his readiness to contest the parliamentary elections.

Moreover, he highlighted a visit from Omar Abdullah, a prominent leader in the National Conference, emphasizing that the purpose of the visit was solely to inquire about his health and well-being. Altaf clarified that the meeting did not revolve around political matters but rather served as a gesture of concern and support from his colleague.
