In Kanpur, a 20-year-old named Deependra Singh was apprehended by authorities for assaulting a woman he had connected with on a social media platform. Singh informed law enforcement that he attacked the woman upon discovering her true age of 45.
According to police reports, Singh initiated communication with the woman on Instagram, and their relationship developed over time. Eventually, Singh decided to meet her in person.
However, upon meeting her, Singh was taken aback to discover that the woman, who appeared youthful in her Instagram profile, was significantly older. Upon inquiry, the woman disclosed her actual age, prompting an enraged reaction from Singh. In a fit of anger, he engaged in a heated argument with her before physically assaulting her and absconding with her mobile phone.
Subsequently, the woman filed a complaint with the police, alleging assault and theft by an unidentified perpetrator. However, upon investigation, law enforcement identified Singh as the perpetrator and took him into custody.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities gather additional information and evidence surrounding the altercation.
