A boiler blast in a Thane, Maharashtra, factory resulted in four deaths and over thirty injuries



The tragic incident at the Amber Chemical Company in Dombivli, Maharashtra, has resulted in the loss of four lives and left over 30 individuals injured. The calamity unfolded following a boiler blast, igniting a major fire that swiftly spread to adjacent factory premises.

Emergency response teams, including eight fire tenders and personnel from the Thane civic body's Regional Disaster Management Cell and the Thane Disaster Response Force, swiftly mobilized to the scene to combat the flames. Despite their efforts, the fire continued to rage, generating massive plumes of smoke visible from a considerable distance.

The impact of the explosion was reportedly felt up to three kilometers away from the blast site, underscoring the magnitude of the incident. Amidst the chaos, injured workers were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Expressing condolences for the lives lost and solidarity with the affected individuals, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured that rescue operations were underway. Eight individuals trapped in the premises were successfully rescued, and arrangements were made to provide medical care to the injured. Additional support from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF), and fire brigade was summoned to bolster the rescue efforts.

As the situation unfolds, authorities are working diligently to contain the blaze and provide necessary assistance to those affected by the tragedy. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the critical importance of safety protocols in industrial settings to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
