A jab at the PM from Arvind Kejriwal: Modi turns 75 next year; will he retire

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal didn't hold back in his criticism of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a press conference in Delhi, held a day after his release from jail following interim bail granted by the Supreme Court.

Kejriwal, the AAP national convenor, posed a pointed question to the BJP regarding their prime ministerial candidate, countering their inquiries about the INDIA bloc's choice. He questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be retiring in 2025, given that he will reach the age of 75 on September 17 of that year.

Highlighting Modi's own rule that leaders in the party should retire after 75, Kejriwal pointed out the retirements of Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sumitra Mahajan, and Yashwant Sinha. He suggested that Modi would be next in line to retire under this rule.

Kejriwal then speculated on the BJP's potential course of action, suggesting that if their government is formed, they would first remove Yogi Adityanath and then appoint Amit Shah as Prime Minister. He questioned whether Shah would fulfill Modi's promises, effectively challenging the BJP's campaign strategy.

In a direct appeal to BJP voters, Kejriwal urged them to recognize that by voting for the BJP, they would essentially be voting for Amit Shah rather than Modi.
