In a shocking incident, a man in Karnataka's Tumkur was arrested for the brutal murder of his wife because she did not serve him dinner, according to police reports on Thursday. The accused not only killed his wife but also decapitated and skinned her body.
The horrific incident occurred on Monday night in Huliyurudurga town of Kunigal taluk. Shivarama, the accused, who works at a sawmill, had frequent arguments with his wife, 35-year-old Pushpalatha. On that fateful night, an argument erupted when Pushpalatha did not serve dinner, which soon escalated into a dispute over Shivarama's employment status.
In a fit of rage, Shivarama stabbed Pushpalatha and then used a machete to decapitate her, mutilating parts of her body. He continued to skin her body until dawn on Tuesday before informing his landlord about the crime.
Tragically, the couple’s eight-year-old son was asleep during this horrific act.
Ashok Venkat, Tumkur Superintendent of Police, provided details on the case, stating, "A 35-year-old female’s body was found at the scene. Her husband was also present. During questioning, he confessed to the murder."
The police official added, "We have secured the accused. Shivaram and Pushpa had been married for 10 years in an intercaste marriage. They had minor fights, but last night, a quarrel over employment issues led to this tragedy. He killed his wife and then informed his employer, who immediately contacted us. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination."
