A man is arrested after choking a partygoer out of wrath in south Delhi

The arrest of Virender in connection with the strangling of another man during a party in south Delhi sheds light on a complex series of events leading up to the tragic incident.

According to police reports, Virender, a resident of Sonipat, was apprehended over a month after the killing, which occurred on April 11. The victim, a 23-year-old, had invited Virender to a party at his flat in Khirki Extension area. However, during the gathering, an altercation ensued where the victim allegedly challenged Virender's masculinity. Enraged by this confrontation, Virender reportedly strangled the victim before fleeing the scene.

The relationship between Virender and the victim was characterized by complexities, as Virender had been romantically involved with both the victim and his mother. Initially, there was animosity between Virender and the victim upon discovery of the former's relationship with the victim's mother. However, over time, their relationship evolved into a friendship, further complicating the dynamics of the situation.

Following the discovery of the victim's body by his roommate on April 13, an investigation was launched, leading to raids across various locations, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Delhi, and Gurgaon. While one suspect, Mohit, was apprehended during these raids, Virender managed to evade capture.

Ultimately, Virender was apprehended on May 21 in Gurugram's Rajendra Nagar area, where he confessed to his involvement in the murder. During interrogation, it was revealed that the victim's challenge to Virender's masculinity during the party triggered the fatal altercation.

The arrest and confession of Virender provide some closure to this tragic incident, yet the complex relationships and circumstances surrounding the case underscore the need for thorough investigation and legal proceedings to ensure justice for the victim and his loved ones.
