After anger, the owner of the restaurant clarifies after the "Diesel Paratha" video becomes viral

The controversy surrounding a dhaba in Chandigarh erupted when a video circulated online, alleging that the establishment served "diesel parathas." Shot by food blogger Amanpreet Singh, the video depicted the preparation process, raising concerns about food safety and public health. In the footage, a man claiming to be the dhaba owner, Bablu, poured a liquid from a can onto a paratha cooking on a sizzling pan, resulting in smoke and charring.

The video quickly garnered attention on social media, triggering widespread outrage and disgust among viewers. Many expressed alarm over the potential health hazards of consuming food cooked in diesel, emphasizing its toxicity and flammability. Calls for authorities to investigate the dhaba and take legal action against the owner flooded social media platforms, with some questioning the authenticity of the video.

In response to the backlash, Amanpreet Singh deleted the video and issued a public apology, expressing regret for any distress caused. He sought understanding and forgiveness from the Chandigarh Administration and the Indian public.

Meanwhile, the dhaba owner, Channi Singh, clarified the situation, asserting that the video was intended for entertainment purposes only. He emphasized that the establishment strictly uses edible oil for cooking and upholds high standards of hygiene. Denying the existence of "diesel parathas," Singh attributed the controversy to the blogger's attempt at humor. He highlighted the dhaba's commitment to providing safe and hygienic food, including langar services.
