In a tragic incident in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, a 23-year-old man, Yesuratnam, fatally stabbed a woman, Jakku Ratna Grace, 22, after she rejected his advances. Overcome by rejection, Yesuratnam attacked Grace near her residence and then attempted to take his own life with the same weapon.Â
Grace succumbed to her injuries on the spot, while Yesuratnam was found critically injured. According to eyewitnesses, Yesuratnam had been stalking Grace for some time before the attack.Â
Senior police official Srinivasa Rao confirmed that they received information about the incident around 12:40 pm. Upon arriving at the scene, police found Yesuratnam attempting suicide and immediately transferred him to Eluru government hospital, where his condition remains critical.
The police are conducting a thorough investigation and have gathered statements from the victim's family members.
