Earlier, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) had issued a notice to Telugu actress Hema for investigation, but she avoided questioning by citing illness and requested an additional week. The CCB of Bengaluru Police has now issued a second notice to Hema, along with seven other individuals who tested positive for narcotics at a rave party held last week, to appear for questioning on Saturday.
The rave party took place at a farmhouse in the Electronic City on the night of May 19-20. The crime branch raided the party, seizing 17 MDMA pills and cocaine. Initially, Hema was summoned for questioning but delayed her appearance by claiming illness and requesting more time.
The event, advertised as a birthday party, was attended by nearly 100 people. Telugu actress Aashi Roy, in a video message on May 22, revealed that she also attended the party, believing it was a birthday celebration and unaware of the drug activities.
The crime branch has so far arrested five individuals, including drug peddlers and the party organizer. The farmhouse is reportedly owned by Gopala Reddy, owner of Con Card, while the party was organized by Vasu, a man based in Hyderabad.
