BJP's attack on Congress as "terror apologists" follows Mani Shankar Aiyar's remarks against Pakistan

Union Minister and BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, citing recent controversial remarks made by Congress leaders Sam Pitroda and Mani Shankar Aiyar. Chandrasekhar highlighted that these statements reflected a consistent pattern in the ideology and policies of the Congress.

Specifically addressing Aiyar's comments regarding Pakistan, Chandrasekhar accused the Congress of adopting an apologist stance towards Pakistan and its terrorism. He emphasized that the new India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership wouldn't succumb to fear tactics and wouldn't hesitate to assert itself on the global stage. Chandrasekhar criticized Rahul Gandhi's Congress for allegedly seeking support from Pakistan's foreign ministers, referencing a social media post by former Pakistan minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain praising Rahul Gandhi.

Furthermore, Chandrasekhar cited various instances of controversial remarks made by Congress leaders to illustrate his point. He mentioned Maharashtra Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar's remarks regarding the death of IPS officer Hemant Karkare, former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi's dismissal of a recent terror incident as a poll stunt, and Congress leader Digvijay Singh's suggestion that the Mumbai terror attack was an RSS conspiracy.

Regarding Aiyar's remarks in the viral video, Chandrasekhar reiterated the BJP's criticism, accusing the Congress of dredging up old statements to deflect from its faltering Lok Sabha campaign. Aiyar defended himself by stating that the video was old and that his comments were made months ago, implying that they were being politicized for electoral purposes.
