Chanting Arvind Kejriwal was arrested during an IPL match, and six people were detained

At least six workers from the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) student wing were detained by the Delhi Police for chanting slogans during an IPL match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday. The workers, sporting T-shirts with 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se' printed on them, raised slogans during the match between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals.

The slogan 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se' is part of AAP's campaign in support of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently in jail in connection with a money laundering case. The Lok Sabha elections in Delhi are scheduled for May 25.

According to a senior police officer, the detained individuals were causing public nuisance in one of the stands at the stadium. They are being detained and will be released after legal formalities. The police urged all spectators to enjoy the game without engaging in such activities.

In response, AAP's student wing, Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS), stated that they were protesting against what they deemed as the "illegal arrest" of the Delhi Chief Minister during the IPL match. The students wore T-shirts with the slogan 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se' and chanted slogans against the BJP government.

The AAP also shared a video of the protest on its official account on X.
