Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan emphasized the urgency of accelerating the jointness process to enhance the capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces to respond across multiple domains.
The two-day 'Parivartan Chintan II’ event, chaired by CDS Gen Anil Chauhan in Delhi on May 9-10, saw participation from officers representing the three services headquarters, Department of Military Affairs, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, and various sub-committees of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC). The focus was on advancing the concept of 'Theaterisation,' which aims to integrate the Army, Air Force, and Navy to optimize resources for warfare and operations.
Updates were provided by COSC sub-committees on the progress of key initiatives crucial for jointness and integration. Discussions centered on vital reforms necessary to achieve the envisioned "Joint & Integrated" state for transformation.
CDS Gen Anil Chauhan stressed the importance of accelerating these initiatives to pave the way for 'Theaterisation' and create Indian armed forces capable of multi-domain responses.
He expressed confidence that the collaborative brainstorming would facilitate the evolution of the armed forces into a theaterized force capable of conducting operations across multiple domains, thereby enhancing the ability to safeguard territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
