A tragic incident unfolded in Mutlu village, Somwarpet, Karnataka, where a 16-year-old girl was brutally murdered, allegedly by a man named Prakash (32), who then fled the scene with her severed head. The victim and the accused were reportedly set to be engaged, but officials from the Women and Child Development Department intervened and halted the engagement on May 9, convincing the girl's parents to call it off.
On Thursday, around 5:30 pm, Prakash forcibly entered the girl's home, dragged her out, and decapitated her before fleeing with her severed head. The girl, who had recently passed her state board exams with a 52% score, tragically lost her life in this horrifying incident. Meanwhile, her mother sustained injuries during the attack and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Authorities have launched a search operation to apprehend the accused, who remains at large. While the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, the police are actively investigating the case.
