The electoral process for the Lok Sabha elections commenced with the first phase of polling conducted on April 19 across 102 constituencies, followed by the second phase on April 26 covering 88 constituencies. According to the Election Commission's latest report released on Tuesday, the voter turnout stood at 66.14% for the first phase and slightly increased to 66.71% for the second phase.

During the initial phase of polling, Lakshadweep witnessed the highest voter participation, registering an impressive 84.1%, whereas Bihar marked the lowest turnout among the 20 states and Union Territories with a mere 49.26% on April 19.

Moving to the second phase, Manipur took the lead with the highest voter turnout at 84.85%, while Uttar Pradesh saw the lowest participation rate at 55.19%.

The Lok Sabha elections, spanning seven phases from April 19 to June 1, encompass a total of 543 constituencies. With the completion of polling for the first two phases, attention now turns to the remaining five phases scheduled for May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.

Subsequently, the crucial task of vote counting is slated for June 4, marking the culmination of this extensive electoral process.
