Tamil Nadu Police have arrested four individuals, including a minor, for allegedly drinking, smoking, and behaving indecently inside a moving train. The incident occurred on the Alapuzha Express, which departed from Chennai Central on Saturday night.
A viral video captured the four youths arguing with other passengers while visibly intoxicated. As the train traveled between Erode and Tiruppur, the young men were seen dancing, smoking, and drinking, causing a disturbance to fellow passengers.
A family from Kolathur, traveling on the same train, confronted the youths due to their obscene behavior. When a passenger questioned their conduct, the young men allegedly assaulted him before fleeing the scene after disembarking from the train.
Following a complaint from the affected passenger, Tiruppur Police arrested the individuals, identified as M Ashok (18), Pawan Kumar (17), S Sudalairaj (18), and K Karan (23). The minor was sent to a juvenile home, while the others were presented before a magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody.
