Gunfire at the panchayat office administered by the Trinamool Party in Howrah, Bengal, injures one



The incident of gunfire at a gram panchayat office in Howrah, West Bengal, has sparked tension in the area. According to police reports, three masked individuals entered the Trinamool Congress-controlled office and fired multiple shots, resulting in one person sustaining injuries from shattered glass.

The attack occurred around 1 pm at the gram panchayat office in Bankra, which is under the control of the ruling Trinamool Congress. Panchayat chief Tuktuki Sheikh alleged that Sheikh Shaji was involved in the incident.

According to Tuktuki Sheikh, the assailants fired several rounds, and he managed to disarm one of them during the confrontation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Bishwajeet Mandal stated that the police are investigating the incident, including reviewing CCTV footage, and a team has been dispatched to apprehend the culprits.

Although one person sustained injuries, they were not caused by a bullet but rather by shattered glass resulting from the gunfire. The police assured that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the assailants based on the available evidence.
