The Hapur Police in Uttar Pradesh took decisive action against motorists who had installed modified silencers on their Royal Enfield bikes, aiming to curb noise pollution in the city. A total of 509 modified silencers were seized as part of Operation "Patakha," conducted between January and April.Â
In a stern display of enforcement, the confiscated silencers were crushed under a road roller on Saturday, symbolizing the authorities' commitment to tackling noise pollution and ensuring compliance with regulations. Circle Officer Varun Mishra emphasized the significance of the operation, noting that it targeted those who had flouted rules by fitting modified silencers, thereby contributing to noise pollution.
The campaign reflects the proactive approach of the Hapur Police in addressing environmental concerns and maintaining public order. By taking firm action against offenders, they send a clear message about the importance of adhering to regulations aimed at preserving the quality of life for residents. Such initiatives underscore the role of law enforcement agencies in promoting responsible behavior and safeguarding community well-being.
