Hindu leaders and Jewish sites were the targets of ISIS terrorists apprehended in Gujarat: References

The four Islamic State terrorists recently apprehended at Ahmedabad airport had specific instructions to target significant locations associated with the Jewish community, as well as to execute targeted assassinations of Hindu leaders affiliated with the BJP and RSS, according to sources briefed by India Today TV.

Identified as Mohamed Nusrath, Mohamed Nafran, Mohamed Faris, and Mohamed Rasdeen, all Sri Lankan nationals, they were detained by Gujarat Police's Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Sunday, May 19. Their journey to Ahmedabad originated from Chennai via Colombo.

Gujarat Police disclosed that these terrorists had been in communication with an ISIS operative named Abu, based in Pakistan, who directed them to carry out suicide attacks, known as fidayeen operations, in Gujarat.

Sources further revealed that their instructions included targeting locations of significance to the Jewish community, alongside carrying out assassinations of specific Hindu leaders associated with the BJP and RSS.

Interestingly, one of the terrorists possessed a visa for Pakistan and was reportedly planning to meet their handler there.

Moreover, investigative agencies have raised concerns regarding potential connections between the apprehended terrorists and individuals within India. These suspicions underscore the ongoing efforts to unravel the extent of their network and potential collaborators within the country.
