According to sources within the Delhi Police, there will be no interrogation of Arvind Kejriwal's parents at their residence about the alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal by Bibhav Kumar, who serves as the Chief Minister's aide.

The scheduled visit by the Delhi Police to Arvind Kejriwal's official residence, where his parents reside, for questioning regarding the purported assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal, has been reportedly called off, as per sources within the Delhi Police.

Last week, a significant political controversy arose following Maliwal's accusation against Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal's personal assistant, of assaulting her at the Chief Minister's residence, subsequently leading to Kumar's arrest.

It has been conveyed by Delhi Police sources that there will be no deposition taken from Kejriwal's parents on the matter today.

Earlier, sources from the AAP informed India Today TV that Kejriwal's parents were expected to undergo questioning by the Delhi Police at their son's residence concerning the alleged assault on Maliwal.

On Thursday, Kejriwal expressed uncertainty regarding whether the police would arrive to question his parents, sharing a picture and video of himself, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, and his parents.

Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal mentioned that the police had contacted his parents and requested a meeting for interrogation the previous day but had not provided any updates regarding their arrival.

Kejriwal had previously stated that the Delhi Police would interrogate his "ailing" parents on Thursday. Sources had indicated that the police had sought an appointment to interview Kejriwal's parents and his wife Sunita Kejriwal at the Chief Minister's residence.

In his initial response to the Swati Maliwal case, Kejriwal emphasized his anticipation for a fair investigation into the matter, asserting that the issue was currently "sub-judice" and refraining from making comments that could influence the proceedings.

Maliwal responded to Kejriwal's recent remarks, expressing incredulity at the situation, particularly considering the events that had transpired previously. She detailed the challenges she faced, including being labeled a BJP agent, character assassination, and the mishandling of evidence, ultimately questioning the sincerity of Kejriwal's call for a fair investigation.

Maliwal has alleged that she suffered a severe assault by Kumar at Kejriwal's residence on May 13, asserting that he persisted even after she disclosed she was menstruating, resulting in physical discomfort and difficulty in mobility afterward.

Kejriwal confirmed his presence at his residence during the time of the incident but clarified that he was not at the location where the assault allegedly occurred.

On May 18, Kumar was apprehended by the Delhi Police following the filing of an FIR against him based on Maliwal's complaint. Subsequently, he was remanded to judicial custody for five days.
