External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized the importance of having a strong government, Prime Minister, and Members of Parliament (MPs) who can effectively represent and advance the interests of India. Addressing an interactive session in Amritsar, Jaishankar highlighted the challenges posed by terrorism, particularly emphasizing the broader threat beyond Pakistan and the pressure exerted by countries like China on India's borders.

Jaishankar stressed the need for a government and leadership that can navigate these challenges and work towards the development and progress of India. He referred to the concept of a "Vikshit Bharat" or developed India, stating that achieving this goal requires dedicated leaders committed to serving the nation's interests.

The minister also spoke about Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the BJP's candidate for Amritsar and former Indian ambassador to the US. Jaishankar praised Sandhu's service to the nation and expressed confidence in his ability to serve Amritsar effectively if elected. He participated in a roadshow in Amritsar to support Sandhu's campaign and expressed optimism about his victory in the upcoming elections.

Jaishankar's remarks underscore the government's commitment to addressing national security challenges and promoting development, while also emphasizing the importance of strong and capable leadership in achieving these objectives.
