She pursued her Bachelor's degree in psychology and political science from Osmania University before venturing to the United States to further her studies.

In the US, Badiga embarked on a journey of academic and professional growth. She obtained a Master's degree in International Relations and International Communication from Boston University, followed by a Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University. Armed with her legal education, Badiga began her career in 2009 after passing the California State Bar Examination.

Over the years, Badiga honed her legal expertise and gained valuable experience. She specialized in Family Law, serving as a certified family law specialist for more than a decade. Her dedication to the field was evident as she worked tirelessly to address issues related to domestic violence and child support. Prior to her appointment as a judge, Badiga served as a commissioner for the Sacramento County Superior Court, where she handled a wide range of cases.

Badiga's ascent to the judiciary is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and commitment to justice. Her appointment by California Governor Gavin Newsom, among 18 new judicial appointments, underscores the state's recognition of her legal acumen and integrity.
