Former Karnataka Minister HD Revanna has taken legal action by seeking pre-arrest bail in a kidnapping case filed against him. This move comes amidst allegations that one of Revanna's associates abducted the mother of a 20-year-old complainant, Raju HD, who, along with his mother, worked as domestic help at Revanna's farmhouse.
The kidnapping case was registered at the KR Nagar Police Station in Bengaluru, prompting Revanna to approach the Bengaluru Sessions Court for pre-arrest bail. The case, filed under Sections 364A (kidnapping) and 365 (forceful restraint), carries non-bailable charges, intensifying the legal gravity of the situation.
Despite being summoned to appear before the special investigation team (SIT) on Friday, Revanna did not present himself, likely influenced by the FIR registered against him at KR Nagar police station.
The bail hearing, which commenced in connection with the kidnapping case, remains ongoing, with proceedings scheduled to continue on Friday. Simultaneously, Revanna's son, Prajwal Revanna, faces separate allegations of sexual misconduct, adding further complexity to the legal entanglements surrounding the Revanna family.
