Off the coast of Kerala, the Indian Coast Guard saves a fisherman from a sinking fishing boat

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) conducted a timely medical evacuation of a Tamil Nadu fisherman named Ajin, who was in distress while fishing off the Kerala coast. Ajin, a 26-year-old from Kolachal, Tamil Nadu, was rescued from the fishing boat IFB Jazeera, which was located 40 nautical miles off Beypore.

The rescue operation was initiated after the Maritime Rescue Sub Centre (MRSC) in Beypore received a distress call from AD Fisheries, reporting Ajin's medical emergency. Despite being rescued by the IFB, Ajin's health was deteriorating due to seawater entering his lungs.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the Indian Coast Guard swiftly launched an Advanced Light Helicopter with a medical team from Kochi. Additionally, Coast Guard ships Aryaman and C-404 responded to the distress call.

Once located, Ajin was airlifted to Kochi by the helicopter. Upon arrival, he was promptly transferred to a nearby hospital for medical attention. As per the latest update, Ajin's condition is stable, thanks to the timely and efficient response by the Indian Coast Guard.
