Police arrive at the house of the'missing' AAP MLA to deliver a notice in the Noida pump assault case

A group of officers from the Noida Police recently paid a visit to the residence of Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Delhi MLA, Amanatullah Khan, to serve official notice to him and his son. This notice pertained to their alleged lack of cooperation in an ongoing investigation concerning an incident at a fuel station in Noida, where they were accused of assault.

According to sources within the police department, Khan and his son, Anas Ahmed, were reportedly uncooperative during the investigation, prompting the issuance of the notice. However, upon arrival at their residence, both Khan and his son were nowhere to be found, leading the police to affix the notice to their home. Additionally, a special team from the Noida Police has been assigned the task of locating their whereabouts.

The legal proceedings against Khan and his son were initiated earlier on Tuesday, May 7, when the Noida Police registered an FIR against them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including charges related to assault and criminal intimidation. This action came in response to allegations that Khan and his son had assaulted and threatened employees at a fuel station in Noida's Sector 95, following a confrontation.

The FIR was filed based on a complaint lodged by one of the station's employees, Vinod Pratap Singh, who claimed that Khan's son had attempted to jump the queue at the fuel station in the morning, insisting on being served first. Allegedly, he even resorted to physical assault against a salesperson. Subsequently, Amanatullah Khan himself arrived at the scene and reportedly engaged in verbal altercations.

In his defense, Khan stated that his son, who is a law student, was on his way to an exam when the incident occurred.

Commenting on the case, additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Manish Mishra, remarked that they had received a complaint alleging that Khan's son had assaulted the staff at the petrol pump, after attempting to bypass the queue for fuel. Mishra added that after his son's actions, Khan himself arrived at the scene and purportedly issued threats.

The investigation into this matter is currently ongoing.
