A team of officials from the Delhi Police recently paid a visit to the sets of the immensely popular television series 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' (TMKOC) as part of their investigation into the alleged kidnapping case involving actor Gurucharan Singh, known for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the show.
Singh, who garnered immense affection from fans for his role, has been reported missing since April 22. Following a complaint lodged by his family, the Delhi Police initiated legal proceedings under section 365 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), about kidnapping. CCTV footage from April 27 indicated Singh's presence in Delhi's Palam area at 9:14 pm, after which he disappeared.
It's been reported that several TMKOC actors were in contact with Singh, prompting the Delhi Police to seek potential leads by visiting the show's sets.
Sohil Ramani, associated with the production of TMKOC, confirmed the visit of Delhi Police officials, emphasizing that the authorities left with assurances that there were no outstanding matters concerning Gurucharan from their end. He expressed ongoing hopes for Singh's safe return.
Gurucharan Singh, recognized widely for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the enduring sitcom TMKOC, was slated to board a flight from Delhi to Mumbai at 8:30 pm on April 22. However, he neither reached the Mumbai airport nor returned home. Furthermore, his phone has been inactive since the reported disappearance.
In response to the situation, Singh's father filed a police complaint, leading to the registration of a case under section 365 (kidnapping). Law enforcement authorities are diligently investigating the matter to ascertain Singh's whereabouts and ensure his safety.
