'Priyanka Gandhi's clerk': BJP's Raebareli candidate jabs Congress's KL Sharma

BJP's Raebareli candidate, Dinesh Pratap Singh, has criticized the Gandhi family for their alleged neglect of Raebareli-Amethi constituencies. Singh questioned why the Congress did not nominate a local leader but instead chose someone he referred to as "Priyanka Gandhi's clerk" to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Amethi.

Singh, who is contesting against Rahul Gandhi in Raebareli, predicted that Rahul would lose by a larger margin than his mother Sonia Gandhi's victory margin in the 2019 polls. He highlighted Sonia Gandhi's victory over him by over 1,67,000 votes in the previous election, although it was her lowest margin of victory in the constituency.

Expressing faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Singh believes that the people of Raebareli trust Modi and, therefore, the Congress candidate will struggle against the BJP candidate in the upcoming elections.

Regarding Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's presence in Raebareli, Singh dismissed it as insignificant to the locals despite her active campaigning. He accused her of making unfulfilled promises during the 2019 polls and suggested that her absence during difficult times further alienated her from the people.

Singh criticized the Gandhi family for allegedly neglecting Raebareli-Amethi constituencies by not fielding local candidates in the Lok Sabha polls since 1952. He accused them of harboring hatred towards the region and claimed that this sentiment was reflected in their electoral choices.

Refuting claims that Raebareli was a stronghold of the Congress, Singh argued that the party lacked significant representation at the grassroots level. He emphasized that Sonia Gandhi's victory in 2019 was not solely due to Congress support but also owed to the backing of other parties.

Singh highlighted the decline in Congress's electoral performance in Raebareli and predicted a larger victory margin for himself against Rahul Gandhi compared to Sonia Gandhi's victory margin.

He reminded that Raebareli had seen historical defeats of the Congress in the past, challenging the perception of it being an invincible Congress bastion. In conclusion, Singh reiterated his confidence in winning the upcoming election and emphasized the changing political landscape in Raebareli.
