Pune Porsche crash: Before the crash, the bar had served alcohol to a minor

In response to a tragic accident in Pune, the Pune excise department has sealed Cosie Bar, which served alcohol to a 17-year-old boy who later caused an accident resulting in two fatalities. The bar owner has also been arrested following directives from the Pune District Collector.

The incident occurred in the Kalyani Nagar area on Sunday night, where the juvenile, allegedly intoxicated, crashed his Porsche into a motorbike, killing two individuals. The sealing of the bar was ordered by the District Collector after the excise department reported the case. An excise department official confirmed the action to India Today TV, emphasizing the importance of upholding legal and safety standards.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis called for stringent action, leading to the prompt crackdown. Alongside the juvenile, who was granted bail by a Pune court, his father, the bar owner, and an executive from Hotel Blak have been arrested. These arrests highlight the severe legal repercussions of serving alcohol to underage individuals and contributing to such tragic outcomes.

On the night of the accident, the juvenile and his friends visited Cosie Bar and Hotel Blak between 9:30 PM and 1:00 AM, consuming alcohol. The subsequent accident occurred around 3:15 AM when the speeding Porsche hit a motorcycle at Kalyani Nagar junction, killing 24-year-old IT professionals Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa from Madhya Pradesh.

The police have filed charges against the juvenile's father under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act. Additionally, charges have been brought against the owners and staff of the bar establishments for serving alcohol to an underage person, reinforcing the serious legal implications of such actions.
