Radhika Khera, a prominent leader within the Chhattisgarh Congress, has resigned from the party, citing internal criticism over her visit to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Khera, who previously accused a colleague of "male chauvinism," expressed frustration at the lack of support and respect she received within the party.
In her resignation letter addressed to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Khera lamented facing opposition within the party for her visit to the Ram Temple, despite her long-standing dedication and service to the Congress. She emphasized her commitment to supporting Lord Ram and her disappointment at the treatment she received.
Khera's decision to resign came after she changed her social media profile picture to reflect her visit to the Ram Temple, signaling her defiance against internal criticism. She claimed that justice was denied to her within the Chhattisgarh Congress unit and announced her resignation with a sense of sorrow.
Asserting her determination to fight for justice, Khera highlighted her disappointment at being let down by the party, despite her years of loyalty. She criticized the party for failing to address her grievances and accused it of disregarding her as a devotee of Lord Ram and as a woman.
In interviews, Khera reiterated her commitment to the party's principles and her adherence to Sanatana Dharma, emphasizing that her visit to Ayodhya was not a departure from party values. She expressed her frustration at the party's failure to address her concerns and ultimately decided to resign after 22 years of dedicated service.
Earlier, Khera had been involved in a public spat with Sushil Anand Shukla, a senior member of the Chhattisgarh Congress communication wing, over organizational matters. Their strained relationship and disagreements over party protocols reportedly contributed to Khera's decision to resign.
The incident underscores internal tensions within the Chhattisgarh Congress and highlights broader challenges facing the party in managing internal dissent and ensuring the fair treatment of its members.
