A 31-year-old man named Colin Czech was arrested in Las Vegas after allegedly killing a person at a bus stop in the city's famed Las Vegas Strip area and then purportedly "eating" the victim's face. Czech later informed the police that he believed he was "possessed and fighting a shapeshifter".
According to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred on April 28 around 4:44 am when authorities received a report of a physical altercation between two males in front of a business on South Las Vegas Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found one individual unresponsive and bleeding from the head, who was later pronounced deceased. Colin Czech was subsequently taken into custody.
The victim's identity has not been disclosed by the police.
Reports indicate that the police received two 911 calls within 45 minutes from employees of nearby establishments. One caller described Czech as shouting and exhibiting signs of paranoia, while another reported that he was "eating" the victim's face.
During a 911 call, a respondent can be heard asking if Czech is currently "eating him", to which the caller affirms that Czech is indeed consuming the victim's face.
Following his arrest, Czech was transported to University Medical Center due to his fluctuating state of consciousness. During a subsequent hearing on May 1 at the Las Vegas Justice Court, it was revealed that Czech informed detectives at the hospital that he had not slept for five consecutive days and claimed to be "hearing voices in his head" before the attack. He also asserted that he had been engaged in a "fight with a shapeshifter".
When questioned about the attack, Czech stated that he used his teeth to consume the victim's "ears and eyeballs".
Currently, Czech remains detained at the Clark County Detention Center without bail, according to jail records.
