Suit against a Gujarati educator and others for taking the NEET exam for Rs. 10 lakh

A case has been filed against a schoolteacher and two others in Godhra, Gujarat, for allegedly attempting to manipulate the results of the NEET-UG exam by offering to solve papers for six candidates in exchange for Rs 10 lakh per candidate. The scheme was uncovered after authorities received a tip-off about malpractice at a designated NEET-UG exam center in Godhra.

The accused include a physics teacher named Tushar Bhatt, who served as the deputy superintendent of the exam at the center, along with Parsuram Roy and Arif Vora. Police found Rs 7 lakh in cash in Bhatt's car, which was an advance payment from Vora to ensure a candidate's placement on the merit list.

According to the FIR, candidates were instructed to leave blank questions they didn't know the answers to, and to fill them in later after the papers were collected. Bhatt, employed at Jay Jalaram School, confessed to his involvement in the scheme after authorities questioned him and discovered incriminating evidence on his mobile phone.

The investigation, initiated by district education officers and additional collectors, led to the registration of a criminal case against the accused for breach of trust, cheating, and conspiracy. Further inquiries are ongoing, with authorities seizing relevant evidence and conducting a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the incident.

NEET-UG is a nationally administered entrance exam for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate medical, dental, and AYUSH courses in both public and private institutions across India.
