The conflict between Russia and Ukraine intensified as both sides reported significant drone activity and missile strikes. Russia claimed to have shot down around 60 drones and several missiles over its territory, while Ukraine asserted that it destroyed over 30 Russian drones.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air defenses intercepted 57 Ukrainian drones over the southern Krasnodar region and destroyed nine long-range ballistic missiles and a drone over the Crimea Peninsula. Additionally, three drones were shot down over the Belgorod region, resulting in a fire on a church roof but no casualties.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian air defense forces claimed to have shot down all 37 Russian drones launched against Ukraine overnight. In the Kharkiv region, where Russia launched a new offensive, one person was killed and 11 were wounded due to shelling.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during a visit to China that Moscow's offensive in the Kharkiv region aimed to establish a buffer zone without capturing the city itself. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military actions in various regions.
