In a veiled swipe at Bollywood actor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kangana Ranaut, Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh, contesting from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, referred to her as an "imported leader" during a public rally in Kasauli. Singh, the scion of the late former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and the Congress state unit chief Pratibha Singh, expressed confidence that the Congress would secure victory in all four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh.
Without explicitly naming Kangana Ranaut, Singh remarked that arrangements had been made to "send the imported leader back to Mumbai" once she loses the elections. This isn't the first time Singh has taken a dig at Ranaut. Previously, he likened her presence in Himachal Pradesh to that of a "frog" that emerges during the rainy season and vanishes soon after.
Singh's comments come amid the buildup to the final phase of polling in Himachal Pradesh, scheduled for June 1. The state will witness voting across four Lok Sabha constituencies: Mandi, Shimla, Kangra, and Hamirpur. The results of these elections are expected to be announced on June 4.
