Messages threatening Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were discovered inside metro coaches at least at two stations. The AAP has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being behind these threats, alleging a conspiracy to attack Kejriwal.
Photographs of the threatening messages, found on the walls of metro coaches and on signboards at Patel Nagar and Rajiv Chowk metro stations, surfaced on social media. Some images included an Instagram handle, though it's unclear if the messages were initially posted there.Â
A senior police officer confirmed receiving information about the threats and stated that an investigation was underway. A team has been assigned to locate the specific metro coach with the messages.
In response, the AAP claimed that the BJP is orchestrating these threats due to their fear of losing all seven constituencies in Delhi in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi addressed the media, accusing the BJP of various conspiracies against Kejriwal. She cited past incidents, including Kejriwal's arrest on March 21, the alleged withholding of his insulin in Tihar jail, and unfounded assault allegations involving Swati Maliwal.
Atishi expressed concerns about Kejriwal's safety, criticizing the Delhi Police for inaction despite the metro stations being under constant CCTV surveillance and security personnel presence. She suggested that the lack of police response indicates BJP involvement.
Echoing Atishi's sentiments, AAP leader Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of plotting against Kejriwal, claiming the conspiracy was directed by the Prime Minister's Office. He warned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP would be held accountable if any harm befalls Kejriwal.
"The BJP has been in a state of panic ever since Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail," Singh said. "This conspiracy is being conducted directly from the Prime Minister's Office. A threat of attack on Kejriwal ji has been written at Rajiv Chowk and Patel Nagar Metro stations."
Singh accused Modi and the BJP of harboring such intense animosity towards Kejriwal that they are allegedly conspiring to kill him. He called on the government, administration, and Election Commission to hold the PMO, BJP, and Narendra Modi responsible for Kejriwal's safety.
