Three opulent hotels in Bengaluru receive bomb threats through email; authorities label them as hoaxes

On Thursday, three upscale hotels in Bengaluru were targeted with bomb threats via email. According to police sources cited by India Today TV, investigations have revealed these emails to be hoaxes, with no suspicious findings reported at the locations thus far.

Presently, law enforcement officials and a bomb squad are stationed at The Ottera Hotel in Electronic City, where one of the threatening emails was received at 2 am on Thursday. Upon discovery of the email by hotel staff, authorities were promptly notified, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

CK Baba, DCP of the South-East division in Bengaluru, confirmed ongoing investigations into the identity of the sender of the hoax email.

This incident occurred amidst a series of similar threats directed at various government institutions, educational facilities, medical centers, and airports. Notably, all previously reported threats have been determined to be false alarms.

In a recent occurrence on Wednesday, a bomb threat targeted the North Block in Delhi, housing the Union Home Ministry's office. The Delhi Fire Service disclosed that the threat was relayed via email to the Police Control Room stationed at the North Block. Subsequent investigations by law enforcement deemed the threat to be unsubstantiated following a comprehensive search of the premises.

These incidents echo a pattern observed on May 1, when nearly 100 schools in Delhi, along with two schools in Noida and one in Lucknow, received similar bomb threat emails, prompting widespread evacuations as a precautionary measure.
