Trump declares that he "won't rule out" constructing immigration detention facilities

In an interview with Time magazine, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump left open the possibility of building detention camps for migrants in the country illegally if he were to win a second term in the White House. Trump stated that while he would not rule out anything, he believed there would not be a significant need for such camps because his plan would prioritize the deportation of migrants back to their home countries as quickly as possible.

Immigration, particularly illegal crossings at the US-Mexico border, has been a central focus of Trump's campaign against President Joe Biden, with whom he is vying for a second term. Trump emphasized the use of National Guard troops to assist in deportation efforts and did not rule out the deployment of active military forces if necessary, citing the need to address what he described as an "invasion" of the country.

Trump's remarks reflect his previous rhetoric on immigration, characterized by dehumanizing language toward immigrants in the US illegally and a hardline stance on enforcement. He has faced criticism for his language, including comparisons to Nazi rhetoric.

Regarding other topics, Trump expressed skepticism about a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians and indicated uncertainty about continuing military aid to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia if elected. He also reiterated his unsubstantiated claims of election fraud in the 2020 election and stated his intention to serve only one more term if re-elected.
