The Narcotics Control Bureau's Mumbai division has successfully dismantled an interstate drug syndicate operating within the city, culminating in the seizure of 500 grams of Mephedrone. This significant operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals involved in drug trafficking.
The NCB's intervention was prompted by intelligence indicating the active involvement of a Mumbai-based syndicate in trafficking Mephedrone, a potent synthetic stimulant. Following this lead, the NCB swiftly mobilized its intelligence networks to gather further insights into the operations of this nefarious syndicate.
Investigative efforts revealed that a certain individual identified as LG Khan had been entrusted with the task of transporting a consignment of Mephedrone, with plans to travel via train. Acting on this intelligence, surveillance was heightened around the Borivali railway station, where LG Khan was expected to make his move.
Upon his arrival at the station, LG Khan was intercepted by NCB operatives, leading to the seizure of the illicit consignment comprising 500 grams of Mephedrone. Subsequent interrogation of LG Khan unveiled crucial details regarding his handler, identified as UU Khan, domiciled in the Mahim locality of Mumbai.
With this vital information in hand, the NCB swiftly moved to apprehend UU Khan at his residence, placing him under arrest. It was revealed that UU Khan, a seasoned offender with a history of criminal activities, had been evading law enforcement agencies while out on bail for various criminal cases. His arrest in the Mahim area marked the culmination of diligent investigative efforts by the NCB to dismantle this illicit drug network.
