The Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh was left reeling after a tragic incident unfolded, claiming the lives of six members of a family in Palapur village. Reports indicate that a man, reportedly grappling with mental illness, perpetrated the gruesome act before taking his own life.
According to police accounts, the man, identified as Anurag Singh, 45, allegedly carried out the killings in a brutal manner. He first shot his mother and then bludgeoned his wife to death with a sledgehammer. Subsequently, he callously threw his three young children off the roof of their house, resulting in their tragic demise. Following these heinous acts, Singh himself died by suicide.
Authorities revealed that Singh, described as an alcoholic, was battling severe mental health issues, which likely contributed to the tragic events. Sitapur SP Chakresh Mishra confirmed the devastating incident, highlighting the preliminary findings of the investigation.
The police, along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team, are actively investigating the matter to uncover further details surrounding the distressing episode.
