On Tuesday, a case was registered against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan and his son for allegedly assaulting and threatening the staff at a fuel station in Noida's Sector-95.
The complaint was lodged based on CCTV footage from the station, which captured the MLA's son physically attacking individuals waiting in line for fuel.
According to Vinod Pratap Singh, the complainant, the MLA's son resorted to violence because he insisted on having his car fueled up before others.
Subsequently, Amanatullah Khan himself arrived at the fuel station and was observed conversing with some police personnel.
However, Singh alleged that the MLA also issued threats against them.
In response to the complaint, the Noida Police initiated an FIR against the father-son duo under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 427 (mischief causing damage).
Manish Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, stated, "We received a complaint in the morning alleging that AAP leader Amanatullah Khan's son assaulted the staff at the petrol pump. We were informed that he had jumped the line for petrol and insisted on having his car fueled up first. Later, the MLA himself arrived and allegedly threatened the people."
Mishra added that the investigation is ongoing.
