"Will not permit quota theft": The Prime Minister's major jab at the Opposition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a pointed speech on Sunday, taking aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, whom he referred to as 'shehzade' (princes). He accused them of engaging in appeasement politics, asserting that it was essential for their parties' survival.

Addressing a rally in support of BJP candidate Rekha Verma in Dhaurahra, PM Modi emphasized his opposition to the religious-based reservation, vowing to protect the reservation for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

He criticized the Congress and SP for allegedly attempting to manipulate reservations based on religion, citing the example of Muslims being categorized as Other Backward Classes (OBCs) overnight in Karnataka. PM Modi warned against similar attempts elsewhere, asserting that he would safeguard the existing reservation system.

PM Modi accused the Opposition, particularly the Congress and INDIA bloc, of using Muslims as political pawns. He claimed that Muslims were now distancing themselves from these parties after witnessing the development initiatives undertaken by the BJP.

Furthermore, PM Modi accused the Opposition of planning to halt government initiatives such as the Vande Bharat trains and free ration scheme if they came to power. He also criticized the previous SP government in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly neglecting sugarcane farmers and failing to address terrorism threats effectively.

The Prime Minister's speech aimed to rally support for BJP candidates ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Dhaurahra. Rekha Verma, the BJP candidate in Dhaurahra, is competing against candidates from SP and BSP in the polls scheduled for May 13, with results expected on June 4.
