Eyewitnesses to the tragic accident in Pune on May 19, involving a Porsche car, have provided harrowing details to India Today TV. According to them, the luxury vehicle was speeding excessively, and the teenage driver was intoxicated at the time of the collision. The impact of the crash was so severe that one of the victims was thrown approximately 15 feet into the air, resulting in instant death.
Describing the scene, one witness recounted that the speed of the Porsche was so high that they only heard a deafening noise, unable to witness the crash itself. The airbags deployed upon impact, causing the car to halt slightly ahead of the accident site. Upon exiting the vehicle, the minor driver was confronted by the witness, who brought him back to the scene to confront the consequences of his actions.
Shockingly, despite being inebriated and facing the wrath of the gathered crowd, the teen driver remained unaffected by the situation. Subsequently, the police arrived promptly and apprehended him, taking him into custody for further proceedings.
Following the incident, the 17-year-old driver has been remanded to the Children Observation Centre for a period of 14 days. Reports suggest that prior to the fatal crash, the teenager had visited multiple bars, indulging in alcohol consumption before getting behind the wheel.
The collision claimed the lives of two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh, Aneesh Awadhiya and his friend Ashwini Koshta, who were riding a motorbike at the time. While Ashwini succumbed to his injuries at the scene, Aneesh was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically passed away shortly after.
